Stoughton Trailers’ Innovative Work-Release Program Highlighted in New York Times Cover Story

January 15, 2018

Stoughton Trailers was featured in a Sunday New York Times front-page story that shared how the company is creatively finding workers in a tight labor market.

Last year, Stoughton Trailers Recruiter Meghen Yeadon began to utilize a Wisconsin Department of Corrections voluntary work-release program that allows inmates to be paid market wages so they can build income for a better start once they’re released.

Jordan Forseth, one of the workers interviewed for the article, wires tailgates and builds sidewalls for Stoughton’s trailers. He began the job while imprisoned at Oregon Correctional Center, and continues to work for the company after his release in November.

Stoughton Trailers is proud of its staff for finding innovative ways to solve the current labor challenges, and is happy to be finding success in a work-release program that benefits both the company and those who want to earn income so they can be successful after time in prison.
